Sweet Basil Cafe is a gem of a place in Victor. They have an incredible menu with options for everyone, including the ability to make most things vegan. The fusion of different Asian dishes means there's a huge variety of things to try, no matter what you're feeling. The portions are huge, so if you're a light eater, bring someone to help (they won't be disappointed). The cucumber salad was just the right amount of spice to pay homage to its Korean cousin, and the rice porridge is officially my new favorite comfort food. We also got lettuce wraps and chicken fried rice, and we couldn't decide what to eat the most of - it was all so delicious. Clarissa was a fantastic and attentive hostess even when there was an influx of people during the lunch hour. There is a charm to the place that makes you feel like you're just reconnecting with old friends with a homemade meal. I'm just mad I haven't managed to get here sooner! If you haven't been, I recommend getting over there ASAP, especially as the weather cools down. Make sure you check their hours, I believe they close after lunch for a minute and reopen for dinner.

First and foremost, at the time of writing this review, they have a 4.8 average and I hope it maintains because it is well deserved and earned. As a small place, it is operated by two individuals (one in the front and one cooking). Keep in mind it is a small intimate venue with limited seating. It is a very clean environment that has a charming atmosphere. Because you are interacting with one individual taking orders, seating you, cashing you out, and carrying plates to and from the kitchen, it takes time. Your patience absolutely pays off tenfold in the quality of food. Having lived abroad for several years, I can definitely say this has been one of the best meals I've had with family out at a restaurant since returning to the United States. The aroma, the plating, the spices and seasonings... it was magical. I would highly recommend that anyone traveling through Victor, NY stop by. The tea and coffee was also spectacular. The food alone warrants five stars! I hope this place continues to successful and grow.

This Cambodian cafe is so amazing! The atmosphere is so welcoming and the staff is amazing. Everything is made to order and reasonable price. The beef Pho was what I had and it’s definitely worth the trip. Will be returning to try more off of the menu

Sweet Basil is a small but very nice Cambodian cafe. We never had Cambodian food before, and decided to give it a try. Two dishes in, we were very impressed and will certainly be back to try something else. It definitely is not fast food. Everything is basically made to order, which takes time, but worth the wait. They even make their own tea blend, which changes daily. The front staff was very friendly and helpful.

TLDR: Delicious Cambodian food at reasonable prices with good service in a lovely location. Review: my wife and I love going to the movies at the nearby theater, but we always struggled to find a good non-chain "ethnic" restaurant to eat at nearby. I'm so very glad we found this place last night. The location is lovely, right in the middle of Victor's cute little downtown. Inside is clean and welcoming. The hostess/server/owner Clarissa brings you right into the intimate venue with tasteful but simple decorations. It smells like heaven and you can hear kids playing in the back room, a sure sign that the Asian food is going to be delicious. According to the restauranteur, they have been slowly moving from a pan-asian menu to a Cambodian menu for the three years they've been open and switched menus completely in December. Gone is the pad thai and in are the cherished family recipes of the cook and co-owner passed on for generations. We got the papaya salad and chicken wings with fish sauce to start and they were insanely tasty. We got a spice level of 4 on the salad and it was just right. Enough to make these seasoned spice eaters' noses run a bit without being over bearing. The chicken wings were perfectly crispy yet juicy inside and I'd put them up against even the tastiest of Korean fried chicken. For the main dishes, my wife got the equivalent of Cambodian pho (Cambodian food is similar to Vietnamese) that came with anis infused beef broth I could happily drown in, and copious panoply of meat chunks. The bowl was huge and not even the two of us could finish it off. I got the beef lemon grass stir fry which was excellently seasoned and the beef was cooked divinely. My wife ended up stealing a third of my meal because it tasted so good. The only downside was that the food was a little slow to come out, so factor that in if time is an issue, but we found the food to be well worth the wait. We will definitely be back and I can't wait to further explore the menu of this gem of a family owned restaurant.

I cannot believe I didn't know about this restaurant before today. The food was outstanding. My friend and I shared 2 dishes and both were perfectly balanced in flavor, beautiful veggies, protein. The hand pulled noodles! I'm obsessed.
